Anticipation

In order to build excitement for the new school year (because my kids love the lazy summer days almost more than I do) I stole this idea from another family in our homeschool group:

One week before our opening day of school, I posted a royal decree throughout the house.

Boy, were the girls surprised!  They kept asking who had posted them and questioning what was in store.  They excitedly whispered to friends about the notice and wondered aloud what "knighthood training" was.  Anticipation was thick in our house.

 It was so much fun, I think I will keep the tradition and look for ways to "introduce" the theme during the week before school each year.
